They are also a trifle beautiful, with vibrant colors, patterns and shapes. Drawn by Satoshi Kaga, this bandanna has been a work of love and patience. Over several months and many many many, adjustments and fine-tuning we got it to look like a piece of art. Inspired by various unrelated inspirations, this first was based on a paper label then influenced by an old bandanna, and later a rug. The end result is a curious piece of bandanna art that will look absolutely incredible tied or wrapped around a person. The art style and arrangement of this bandanna is a bit of a throwback to the 1800s but only in jest. The look of the fish and use of bubble dots to create an underwater effect was a precarious undertaking. Making new things look like they’re old is not easy. Well we tried. I think it looks amazing. The theme is pears or quince kind of hard to tell exactly but we have aptly named it poire for pear. This very detailed design took weeks of hard work from the hand of Kaga Satoshi. Expertly redrawn and detailed for One Ear Brand. The reds are a little different from authentic reproductions we have tried to use: a dark black, and a faded barn red. There are songs, festivals, viewing parties… I could go on and on… The major aesthetic importance of “\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003esakura\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e” is that they represent the fleetingness of beauty, life and death, and especially in the concept of “\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003emono no aware\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e” or in simple terms the idea of being sensitive and aware of things in nature around you, and to appreciate that beauty. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIt felt cliche to do a Sakura bandanna but I asked my friend @alessio_vitelli to draw the art on this one. He has lived in Japan for a number of years and has an interesting art style. I felt that his art style would work well with the concept of a cherry blossom bandanna. The style is a bit psychedelic but in a traditional bandanna layout. The simple design is highlighted with small details like budding blossoms, and falling petals. Illustrating perfectly the fleetingness of these feelings. We used a quartz pink, and a cocoa brown to give a natural color palette to the artwork. This bandanna will work well with anyone and a lot of fashion styles. This era of bandannas is always very interesting detail-wise. The original had a bird motif in the middle and these little feather ornaments on the outside. Yurika and I wanted to change the center motif to something more easily recognizable -cardinals. Entirely redrawn from the original, all the details have been changed and everything is original. I was listening to baroque lute music and this design really meshed well with it. Consider this design a sort of modern antique.
